Some Very Mobile Months – Ministry Update
Hey Friends and Family,
It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of 2017! As we write this latest ministry update we realise that it will be one of our last ones ever coming from Australia. Also like we mentioned in our last update, these will be taking on a different shape in the future as we roll out our family project. Which we have been working hard on releasing!
I have been continuing to do Rahab and it’s so cool to think we have been running this ministry for 5 1/2 years now! This year has been great and we have an awesome group of girls that go out every month into the brothels. We are currently planning our Christmas outreaches. Each month we bring pretty basic gifts for the girls, mostly baked goods or pretty simple things. But each Christmas we go all out and prepare packages for each girl full of really nice things. This year we are planning to do a small (nice) perfume, a canvas painting, a handwritten card, and a few other little things. The point of this is to really bless them at what can be a very low and sad time of year for some. We want to give them something of value, and that will make them feel loved! We are currently fundraising for the money to give these gifts out! If you’re interested in donating to this, let me know! We are needing about $20 for each package, and need about 50 packages total. These will be directly given to the girls in December. If you’d like to buy one or multiple packages, you can donate right through our Paypal and just make a note that its for Rahab. Thank you!
From the USA to Spain….
Since our last update our family has truly been mobile. This included our holidays in New England and then two solo trips for me. For the last week of our time in New England I flew down to Orlando, Florida to run one of my Mobilization Sprints with YWAM Orlando. Then a few weeks later I was back on a plane, this time for my first ever Europe trip. This one was a little different as I headed to Malaga, Spain to attend an annual gathering for those that work with YWAM communications globally. I personally serve on the leadership team that convenes this group and helps oversee a number of global communication projects. One of the themes we discussed and prayed into during this time was the area of values in communications. It was such a good time for me to reflect on how God wants us to communicate vs. just doing what everyone always does. It is such a privilege to serve our mission in this way and I am really excited to see where God takes us out of these recent meetings.
We can’t wait to share our new family project and don’t forget to get a sneak peak by following our new Instagram Account —> www.instagram.com/ourmobilefamily . Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and for all your love and support!
